“Oh, and You Have a Degree, Too?”

If you read these threads, where is education going? Personally, I think all students should take a year off to volunteer, work, travel, anything before going to college. In fact, the whole application process should start after high school graduation. Maybe then, people will know what they really want out of school.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I would do anything to go back to Northwestern. I had a blast! I met great people. Learned to stand on my own two feet, and think that most of what I gained had nothing to do with the classes I took. However, I graduated at the height of the dot-com bubble and knew that I could have a job (if I had tried – that’s another story). What’s the future of today’s grads?
